Press Advisor
Previously, I worked as assistant to the Press Counselor in the Press Service of the Spanish Embassy in Moscow (Russian Federation) during the period 2007-2014, as well as in the Consulate General as an administrator (1999-2002). In relation to the previous position, some of the tasks I carried out daily included press summaries, reviews and complete translations, from Russian to Spanish, of the most relevant articles published by the Russian press. In addition, I would review both written and audiovisual material from the media in that country. Other tasks consisted of coordinating official events with Spanish correspondents (such as receptions, briefings, bilateral summits, interdepartmental meetings or joint committees) and arranging interviews with senior Russian officials and other personalities for the Spanish media.
Translator
Following a great interest in literature, from 2004 to date, I have also regularly translated, from Russian into Spanish, several masterpieces of Russian literature, including classics of the 19th and 20th centuries such as: ‘The Gambler’ and ‘Crime and Punishment’ by Fyodor Dostoyevskiy; ‘Dead Souls’, by Nikolay Gogol; ‘First Love’ by Ivan Turgenev; ‘We’, by Evgeniy Zamiatin; ‘Dersu Uzala’ and ‘Across The Ussuri Kray’ by Vladimir Arsenyev. All the works, of which I also composed the prologues, are published in Spain by Akal Ediciones, as well as in Mexico and Latin America by Ediciones Castillo. In the coming weeks, among others, Lev Tolstoy’s ‘Sketches of Sevastopol’ and ‘Hadji Murat’ will be added to the list.

At the moment
Based in Rivas-Vaciamadrid since 2014, I am currently dedicated to translating from Russian into Spanish a couple of literary masterpieces by Tolstoy and Dostoevsky for the Spanish publishing house Akal. From 2020 until mid-March 2022 I have worked in the Madrid office of the Russian public news agency Sputnik. Previously I worked as an editor for the monthly magazines ‘Corredor’ and ‘Runner’s World’, both top-level Spanish sports publications based in Madrid focused on amateur athletics (mainly running). In addition to editing a large part of each current affairs issue before this edition went to press, there I specialized in translating articles from the British and American versions from English into Spanish.
